MOLTO WHO?
MOLTO is the vision of Alex “Molto” Kaminski.
Alex was born as an artist, she is living as an artist.
Professional artist.
Graduate Product Design at the famous IED in Milan
and Fashion Accessories & Luxury Goods at Istituto Marangoni.
The first step into fashion she made
in Stockholm for AltewaiSaome and for Missoni in Milan.
Having tasted different cultures, styles, mentalities,
being inspired by classics, trash, freaks, high culture, and Tetris
in 2014 she created her own label, MOLTO.
Mr. Wurst is the mood maker
and part-time model of MOLTO
Always there for a fame…
When MOLTO
was created?
I create luxury products since I graduated In Fashion Accessories & Luxury Design from Istituto Marangoni in 2013.
I studied Industrial Design before I specialized in Fashion Accessories, therefor the beautiful, and practical for me are inseparable.
Beautiful bags are my weakness – I turned it into strength.
At first, I designed Bags and Jewellery for Missoni and Altewaisaome.
But I desired to let my creative DNA flow
– MOLTO was born in 2016.
I am capturing the fashionable zeitgeist in MOLTO Bags through connecting
innovative, elegant shapes with originality.
My mission as a bag designer is to combine intuitive functionality, generous and meaningful design.
What idea MOLTO
was born from?
Elegance is our power,
intelligence our tool,
and innovation our aim.
Take whatever you can into your brain,
and put the rest in your MOLTO bag!
Concentrate on the important things in life
YOU DO YOU
and MOLTO has your back,
carrying all your essentials
that you need to conquer the world!
What does MOLTO mean?
MOLTO means VERY in Italian.
That reflects my philosophy:
live life to the molto fullest.
Pursuing your goal no matter how molto unrealistic and huge it seems in the beginning.
Celebrating a relaxed
but ambitious way of life full of warm personal relationships and time
for the things and ones we love.
This is what MOLTO means to me.
What makes MOLTO stuff unique?
The design is sharp,
the colors are progressive
and the materials are sublime
– exactly like my MOLTO people!
MOLTO is handmade and designed
with the highest demands for functionality and aesthetics.
Traditional craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and bold colors are the fundamentals of the MOLTO Bag Brand.
Who are MOLTO people?
MOLTO reflects the lifestyle of an emerging generation of bold, brave, and fashionable people traveling and tasting the world – fearless.
Our bags are created as companions for them.
Every piece serves its distinctive purpose and makes a strong, elegant, and neat statement.
MOLTO doesn’t trust normcore!
The MOLTO individual is a fresh, energetic, strong, dynamic soul!
MOLTO is embracing the many-faceted
life of modern people.
Nowadays we need to fit every-busy-day essentials as well as our mobile business office
in one practical yet fashionable handbag.
A bag that will allow you to go anywhere and do anything – office, gym, airport, meeting with friends.. mingling work and play!
That is the MOLTO bag.
Honey, we got your bag
and there will be much more!
Honey, we got your bag
and there will be much more!
You can see a piece of this journey thanks to an amazing photoshoot made by @wojtekkorsak.
Why did you decide to start your journey with bags?
I started designing before I even knew what designing was.
I always had creative projects going on in my kid’s room.
I made fashion accessories for my dolls and stuffed animals and made little creatures from beads.
I arranged events for my community of self-made toys.
I was a very dramatic director,
my scenarios often had a slightly criminal touch
– but the characters were always dressed fabulously.
What inspires you to design MOLTO bags?
My parents always encouraged me
to embrace this need and desire to create.
My mom was and is a real Fashionista: she dressed me up BAD-ASS and let me experiment!
My father came up with the wildest self-made games and costumes for both of us.
He took me to exotic places when I couldn’t even properly understand how amazing they are.
Sometimes it can be a smell or a haptic experience that stimulates me to envision a new product.
Traveling, living in different countries, and experiencing multiple cultures at a young age had a great impact on my mindset.
These emotions are what I try to implement in everything I create at MOLTO and in my life.
Thanks to that mindful observation is my weapon.
I feel that my childhood had a great impact
on how I see and feel the world today.
Fun Fact?
I wanted to learn how to professionally design products.
I studied Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts for 1 year because I did not get into the Product Design Course.
Hated it.
I cannot focus on a whole room at once, I like to give all my love to one product or a group of products.
I started my Bachelor in Product Design at IED Milano in Italy.
I graduated designing a toilet inspired by a retro car.
Trying to make a toilet look fashionable and fabulous made me realize I cannot run from my destiny anymore!
I made my Master in Fashion Accessories and Luxury Design at Istituto Marangoni and that was the puzzle piece that was missing.
Was it worth it?
The thing that I loved most about my studies in Milan at the Institute Marangoni:
it wasn’t all dry theory.
We got to work with REAL BRANDS.
The actual designer in charge came in and evaluated our student projects from the sketch phase to the final presentation.
Yeah, nerve-racking!
But HEY, can you get better input and motivation than working with some real-ass people who are shaking up the fashion industry?
The cherry on top was our thesis project for…
MOTH€RFUCK!NG LOUIS VUITTON!!!!
Legendary accessories designer Fabrizio Viti gave us a tour at the LV Factory and a theme for our thesis to work on.
Aaaaand so I ended up designing two crazy shoes for my final project – inspired by the one and only musical “Cabaret” with Liza Minelli.
Life after graduation?
I landed my first job at Missoni in an unconventional way and I was offered to design AltewaiSaomes’ leather and accessories.
So I designed the AltewaiSaome collection and worked for Missoni at the same time.
Wanna know how I got rejected from every job interview I had & still got my first dream fashion job?
Check it out on my personal blog.
It’s worth reading!
Managing my work and time by myself was not as easy as I thought it would be.
I was beading NONSTOP.
Might sound trivial and fun but I was physically and mentally busy with beading little accessories for weeks.
This feeling of my freelance designs being wanted
was so rewarding.
Once I tasted that, it was clear to me:
I want my own MOLTO.
News You will be waiting for!
